CryptoQuote 1.2 released
John Haney has released another update to
CryptoQuote, the word puzzle game for OS X. The new version adds more quotes, shows letter frequency, introduces a resizable window and cleans up pasted puzzles.
iGame3D Pro debuts; 3D game development environment
Tobias Opfermann and William Griffin have developed a freeware 3D game development environment called
iGame3D Pro. The software features an editor that works with the Meshwork format, QuickTime support, and much more. It was used to create Antack, an action shooter that was entered in last year’s uDevGame 2002 competition.
GarageGames to distribute PomPom titles
PomPom Games is the UK-based developer of cool, trippy retro-style arcade games like Mutant Storm and Space Tripper — homages to Eugene Jarvis classics like Robotron and Defender, with wild, 3D OpenGL-based graphics.
GarageGames — publishers of Think Tanks, Orbz and Marble Works — has entered into a distribution agreement with PomPom to help get their titles out to a wider audience.
‘Open Knights’ hopes to bring NWN toolset to Linux, Mac
Open Knights project hopes to bring Bioware’s Aurora Toolset to Mac OS X and Linux. The Aurora Toolset is the much-talked-about editing software for Neverwinter Nights.
Realm Wars Mac build available
Realm Wars — the first person shooter built using the Torque Game Engine — supports multiple platforms, and a new build for the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) was shown off last week. Now it’s
available for download.
Shadowbane Mac client updated
Ubi Soft has announced the release of a new version of its Mac client for Shadowbane, the massively multiplayer online role playing game. The Mac version update incorporates fixes, and also adds a variety of other changes, including the addition of secondary heal effects for Barbarian and Templar powers, login server fixes, the closure of several game exploits and more.
Warcraft III patch to add clan support, more
has indicated that a new patch for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos is coming in the days ahead. The new update adds clan support and interface enhancements originally designed for the Frozen Throne expansion pack, which comes out on July 1st.
Warrior Kings goes Release Candidate
Feral Interactive has announced that its forthcoming Real Time Strategy game conversion Warrior Kings has reached the Release Candidate milestone and should be finished soon. Minimum system requirements call for Mac OS X 10.1.3 or Mac OS 9.1 or higher; G3/500MHz; 128MB RAM; 750MB hard disk space; 8MB VRAM graphics card.
