LearnStar Inc. has released a new Art and Music curriculum module at this week’s National Education Computing Conference (NECC) conference. The module explores the history, culture, and historical figures in the fields of art and music.
The module works with the LearnStar interactive software solution. It can be used for individual learning, but its modules can also be used for group competition between students in a classroom, between classes, between schools in a district, or even between school districts. The number of institutions competing is limited only by the available bandwidth. LearnStar software is compatible with Mac OS X and “Classic” Mac OS.
The Art and Music module, designed for grades K-6, features 275 activities and assessments in art and music. The art section covers topics such as famous and influential artists, art history, vocabulary and trivia, and “name that art,” in which students must identify paintings or sculptures from a photo. Music explores different composers, types of musical instruments, musical styles, and music from different regions of the world, music appreciation, music trivia, and “name that tune.”
