International Typeface Corp. has released 29 new fonts. All are available for both Mac and Windows systems and come in both PostScript and TrueType formats.
All ITC fonts include a license for up to five computers and one printer. ITC Officina Display, ITC Oldbook, ITC Medea, ITC Kiddie Cocktails, ITC Mosquito Fiesta, and ITC Volcano King are the typeface families that contain the new fonts.
ITC Officina Display is based on the ITC Officina typeface and is designed to achieve maximum impact at display sizes.” A set of four Officina Display dingbat fonts (arrows, bullets, circles positive and circles negative) is included with the purchase of any weight of ITC Officina Display.
ITC Oldbook was designed to simulate the look of antique printing while retaining the even color and high legibility of a text design. The ITC Oldbook family contains complementary italics, small caps, alternate characters, ornaments, and old style figures.
ITC Medea, a family of three fonts, blends elements of modern sans serif and uncial designs. ITC Medea features characters that appear geometric in construction, while others, such as the elliptical “o,” contain calligraphic subtleties.
ITC Kiddie Cocktails is a retro face that has spiky serifs and quirky weight shifts. ITC Volcano King is another retro font that offers contrast between the bold outer shapes of the letters and the thin inline. ITC Mosquito Fiesta sports “gnawed” edges and an uneven baseline that gives it a jumpy appearance.
