Jiiva has updated SuperScrubber, a disk sanitization product for Mac OS X, to version 1.1, which purportedly runs up to 50 percent faster.
SuperScrubber erases all data from a specified internal or external hard drive or partition. Jiiva says that version 1.1 can perform a military-strength scrub on a 30GB hard drive in as little as two hours (depending on your exact hardware configuration). Besides the performance boost, the update includes: new scrub operations such as a configurable repeat operation; a double reminder to prevent accidental scrubbing; user interface enhancements; and updated documentation.
SuperScrubber, which costs US$29.99, is distributed on a bootable CD containing Mac OS X, allowing you to scrub your entire hard drive without using an external drive. It runs on any Mac capable of running Mac OS X (10.2.3 and higher), but Mac OS X doesn’t have to be installed on your computer.
