For the week ending June 15, Apple received the most unique visitors to its Web site of the top five Web sites operated by computer hardware manufacturers, according to a survey by Nielsen/NetRatings. Apple showed a unique audience of 3.6 million, as compared to second place Hewlett-Packard’s 2.4 million and Dell’s 2.1 million, Internet Retailer reported.
However, Apple and HP swapped spots in terms of time spent on the Web site per visit per person. The typical Apple visitor stayed 3 minutes, 44 seconds, while HP visitors hung around for 19 minutes, 46 seconds. Dell’s guests stayed on for 8 minutes, 50 seconds.
The number of unique visitors to all computer hardware manufacturers’ Web sites was 5.9 million, several of which would have visited multiple sites, according to Nielsen.
