EchoFX Inc. has released an updated version of its OS X software for InterView, the USB-based video digitizing solution originally sold by XLR8. InterView provides analog video capture for Mac OS X 10.1.3 through 10.2.6.
Version 2.2.4 provides support for Occulus, a Webcam application. CPU consumption of the digitizer itself has been lowered by up to 40 percent, according to the developers, and audio synchronization has been improved during Preview mode. Preview frame rate is about 50 percent higher, as well, and artifacts have been reduced. When InterView movies are played back, the alpha mask has been made opaque. And the new version also fixes a compatibility issue with Apple’s new video conferencing application, iChat AV.
All Echo and XLR8 InterView 2.1 users can get the upgrade for free. If you’re using an older version of InterView and you’d like to upgrade, you can buy the software for US$25.
