SilverNetworks has updated Spy, the remote screen capture tool, to version 1.1 and added the ability to list your Spy server on the Spy Tracker. Load the URL in any Web browser, and a list of all the Spy servers listed on the tracker are seen and can be accessed.
With Spy you can run a server on your Mac; it’s compatible with Mac OS X and Mac OS 7.6-9.x. When accessed by most Web browsers, it lets people see a snapshot of your screen, as well as information about your Mac. Viewers can look at a normal static image — or they can look at your screen, live, continuously updated, in real-time. You can choose which image format you want to use: JPEG or PNG. Plus, you can set the picture attributes by specifying the quality, depth, and scale.
Spy 1.1 also offers external file serving via the built-in Web server, a Mac OS X Dock menu, a closable Log window, Simple or Advanced logging choices, an External IP address window, improved graphics, and more. It’s freeware.
