Apple Computer has obtained the exclusive U.S. rights to distribute the soundtrack to 20th Century Fox’s film, “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.”
Apple is selling the album for US$9.99 as an online download at the iTunes Music Store. That’s not unusual. What is, however, is the fact that no physical CDs are being made for the U.S. market. The soundtrack includes a score by composer Trevor Jones and features performances by the London Symphony Orchestra and Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
” The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen ” is about a team of unusual individuals (Allan Quartermain, the Invisible Man, Captain Nemo, Dr. Jekyll, Dorian Gray, and an adult Tom Sawyer) assembled by the British government to battle an evil threat in the late 1800s. There’s a trailer for the film, which opens this Friday, at Apple’s movie trailer site.
