JBoss Group LLC announced Tuesday that its JBoss application server will be embedded in Apple’s forthcoming release of Mac OS X Server v10.3, the “Panther” server release anticipated before the end of the year. JBoss Server is an open-source Java-based application server.
JBoss Server helps Mac OS X Server users to deploy J2EE applications. The popular open source application server has been made available on a number of operating systems and hardware platforms, and averages 250,000 downloads per month.
The forthcoming Panther Server release will include the JBoss application server, which lets administrators run J2EE-based applications on the server, including Enterprise Java Bean components. The new release will also include deployment tools to help configure existing J2EE apps as well.
