Avenza Systems Inc. is shipping MAPublisher 5.0 for Macromedia FreeHand 10 and FreeHand MX. The update includes support for Mac OS X and MicroStation Design (DGN) files.
MAPublisher is map production software for creating cartographic-quality maps from GIS (Geographical Information Systems) data. It’s available as a suite of Xtras for Macromedia FreeHand and as plug-ins for Adobe Illustrator.
In addition to enhanced FreeHand support and Mac OS X compatibility, MAPublisher 5.0: supports Douglas-Peucker Line simplification; lets you plot points in decimal degrees or DMS onto any projected plane; converts between DMS and decimal degrees; provides the capacity to create GeoTiffs and other geo-referenced raster images; and more. MAPublisher 5.0 for FreeHand is available as a US$349 upgrade for registered users; new licenses are US$849.
