UsableNet’s LIFT for Dreamweaver has been updated to version 2.0, adding support for Dreamweaver 4 and Dreamweaver MX templates.
LIFT lets Web sites be checked to ensure that they’re in compliance with government regulations that guarantee they’s accessible to those with various physical impairments. The extension can also connect users to an additional online service from UsableNet that allows tests to be automatically scheduled on live Web sites.
In addition to Dreamweaver 4 and Dreamweaver MX support, version 2.0 provides enhanced performance; support for Dreamweaver cloaked directories; and improved accessibility of generated reports. Through July 31, the upgrade is free to registered users. Afterwards, it will cost US$99. However, if you buy an annual service contract ($99), you’ll receive free upgrades, along with telephone support and access to a Web accessibility knowledge resource. For new users, the cost is US$299.
