Mireth Technology Corp. has updated its NetShred X security utility to v3.2. The new version is a free update for existing NetShred X users, and can be downloaded from links on the Mireth Web site.
NetShred X is a privacy utility used to get rid of data stored in your Web browser’s cache files, as well as browser history files, download cache, e-mail trash and Apple Mail.app junk mail directory. Rather than just deleting the files, NetShred X “shreds” the data for added security, to prevent such data from being recovered.
Version 3.2 of NetShred X now adds support Netscape, Mozilla and Opera 6.x Web browsers. What’s more, you can employ NSA standard or Gutmann standard shredding capabilities.
NetShred X costs US$19.95 to register. A demo version is available from the Web site. System requirements call for a G3 or better with Mac OS X 10.x.
