The Omni Group has released another new update to its public beta of OmniWeb 4.5, beta 3. The new version is available for download now from The Omni Group’s Web site.
OmniWeb 4.5 beta 3 includes a new round of fixes, and corrects a “nasty crasher” that appeared in the previous beta. If you’re using OmniWeb 4.5 beta, The Omni Group recommends grabbing the new beta straightaway.
OmniWeb is The Omni Group’s own home-grown Web browser for Mac OS X. The software was developed specifically for Mac OS X. Unlike its predecessor, OmniWeb 4.5 has been developed using Apple’s own WebCore and JavaScriptCore technology, the same software underpinnings Apple uses to make Safari, which provides better support for Internet standards like CSS, HTML, XHTML and JavaScript.
Several shortcomings and problems remain; The Omni Group has posted a list of currently known issues, so make sure to read the online documentation thoroughly before installing this beta.
