The FCPUG Network, which consists of 25-plus Final Cut Pro user groups, will meet at the New Yorker Hotel on Thursday, July 17, in conjunction with the Macworld CreativePro Conference & Expo.
Apple’s Brian Schmidt will be on hand to demo DVD Studio Pro 2. Paul Saconne, Apple’s Final Cut Pro product manager, will conduct a session called “What’s New and What You Should Know About FCP 4.” Final Cut Pro was released on June 14; DVD Studio Pro 2 is due for release next month.
There will also be a special guest who will show clips from the upcoming documentary “Frank Gehry.” Additionally, there will be a “Stump the Gurus” contest and a raffle.
The FCPUG Network meeting will be open to the public on a “first come, first seated” basis. The doors will open at 5 p.m., with the meeting starting at 6:30. A US$5 donation will requested at the door; snacks and drinks will be available.
Directions to the New Yorker Hotel and more info about the CreativePro gathering are online.
