TC Electronic has announced the Restoration Suite for its PowerCore solution. The Suite, due next month, includes three real-time plug-ins: Denoising, Declicking and Descratching.
Created for musicians, the PowerCore processes the EQ-curve of any reference mix onto any target material. With it, you can analyze the EQ-curve of any reference material and apply it to your own target material in realtime. PowerCore includes the TC Tools special effects package that features technology from TC Electronic’s high-end hardware products like the M5000 Reverb, TC1210 Modulation FX and Finalizer EQ Section. For Mac users only, PowerCore includes SparkLE 2.1, TC Works’ real-time audio editing and authoring application for Mac OS X.
The DeScratcher eliminates impulsive-type errors in audio material. The plug-in reconstructs missing signal sections via a process that’s based on mathematical modeling of the undamaged signal before and after the damaged signal portion, extrapolating the gaps in between. The missing signal section is estimated by the use of forward and backward extrapolation across the damaged area. DeScratch is built for removing impulsive disturbances such as extreme clicks or drop outs in digital signals or scratched vinyl recordings.
DeNoise is optimized for broadband noise removal, from tape hiss to static environmental noise. DeNoiser is fingerprint-based; its edit tools allow manual adjustment of the analyzed fingerprints for further refinement of processing results.
DeClick sports a user interface with two key parameters and repairs crackle and clicks. The Audition function and a display with statistical feedback on the declicking performance are designed to simplify the setup process.
The Restoration Suite has a cost of US$1,499. However, TC Electronic is offering an introductory price of $999.
