CreativePro: The Mega-MUG Meeting at this week’s Macworld CreativePro Conference & Expo will be held Wednesday, July 16th from 6-7:30PM at the Javitz Center in room 1E08. During that time, expo attendees can interact with The Apple User Group Advisory Board, the Apple Regional Liaison Team, and other MUG (Mac User Group) leaders and enthusiasts.
Speakers include: Gary Adcock of the Chicago Final Cut Pro Users Group; Roy Atkinson of the Down East Mac Users Group; Dave Marra, Apple senior systems engineer; Sarah Friedlander of the Rochester Institute of Technology Mac User Group; Nico Juber of the Tufts Mac Users Group; Cathleen Merritt of the Appleworks User Group; Warren Williams of the AppleWorks User Group; and Lesa Snider of the Cowtown Mac User Group. Details can be found at The MUG Center, an online resource for MUGs.
However, CreativePro isn’t the only expo being held this month. The Rogue Valley Macintosh Expo, hosted by the Josephine County Mac Users Group, will be held on July 20 in Grants Pass, OR. It will feature such presenters as Elizabeth Statmore of Circus Ponies, former Apple User Group Program Coordinator Garr Reynolds, and former Apple Regional Liaison Steve Welsh. There will also be raffles, a gaming area, hands-on stations, and more.
MUGs are good places for making new friends, finding Mac-loving buddies, boning up your technical expertise, finding solutions to technical problems, and sometimes finding a good deal on used hardware.
