Scott Kelby — book author and editor-in-chief of Mac Design and Photoshop User magazines — appeared at the Apple Store at 7 p.m. Monday in SoHo (103 Prince Street), offering Photoshop and Mac OS X tips and tricks. The event drew a record crowd for such a presentation at the retail store.
All the seats in the presentation area of the Apple store were filled. People stood and sat along the walls — and some even stretched out on the floor in front of the chairs. Kelby’s new book, “The Mac OS X Conversion Kit: 9 to 10 Side by Side” is the number one selling computer book at Amazon.com. It recently replaced “Photoshop for Digital Photographers,” also by Kelby.
One of the most popular events of the night was the “How to be a Total Mac Geek” contest. Audience participants were asked Mac trivial questions. Prizes include Apple T-shirts, Mac Design subscriptions, Kelby’s books, and an iPod. Kelby is also the author of such books as “Mac OS X Killer Tips,” “and “Macintosh: The Naked Truth.”
