Minolta-QMS Inc. on Tuesday introduced the magicolor 7300 EN, a large-format color laser printer that supports up to 11×17-inch paper.
The printer can produce up to 20 pages of letter-sized output per minute in either black and white or color. It incorporates 10/100BaseTX ethernet, USB and parallel interfaces, and features up multi-bit 600 x 600 dot per inch resolution.
The magicolor 7300 does full-bleed comps, newsletters and other advertising and marketing documents up to 12.25 inches by 18 inches. Options can boost the output size to banner-length: 11.69 inches by 35.43 inches. It also features internal automatic color calibration software and will work with personalized ICC profiles.
The printer ships with a 500-sheet Standard cassette that accepts up to 11×17-inch media and a 250-sheet Universal cassette that works with up to 12.25×18-inch media. The Universal cassette handles up to 110lb. paper, transparencies, envelopes and sheet labels. Minolta-QMS offers 500-sheet Lower Paper Feeders as options; fully loaded, the printer can handle up to 1,750 sheets total. An automatic duplexer is also an option.
The new magicolor 7300 EN carries a suggested street price of US$3,199. It’s compatible with Mac, Windows and Linux systems, and is PostScript 3 compatible. The printer comes with cyan, magenta, yellow and black toner cartridges and OPC drum units, two waste toner receptacles and a fusing unit.
