Liebert Corp. has rolled out the PowerSure PSP, a new addition to the PowerSure family of small UPS and surge suppression systems. PowerSure PSP is an offline UPS that combines a minimum of four minutes of battery backup at full-load, with lightning and surge protection for up to six outlets and one data line.
It’s available from 350VA to 650VA and provides battery power to provide uninterrupted operation during short power outages. If an outage exceeds the battery capacity, the PowerSure PSP can use a USB connection to provide a controlled shutdown. It’s certified by Apple for use with Mac OS X (10.2 and later), according to Liebert.
The PowerSure PSP touts an integrated transient voltage suppression system (TVSS) that protects against incoming surges and spikes. The batteries are user-replaceable. Also, audible and visual alarms alert you to conditions that may lead to a shutdown. PowerSure PSP pricing ranges from US$128 to $228, depending upon the model.
