Arlo Rose and Perry Clarke have released Konfabulator v1.5, a new version of their Javascript runtime engine for Mac OS X that the developers describe as “revamped.” The new version sports new features and updated Widgets.
Using Konfabulator, you can run “Widgets” that can do pretty much anything the developers dream up, from alarm clocks to calculators, AirPort signal strength meters, slideshow galleries and much more.
Features new to Konfabulator v1.5 include support for drag and drop, direct text input, keyboard events, mouse event tracking, desktop integration, and much more — more than 200 new features in all.
Konfabulator v1.5 also ships with updated default Widgets and five new additions, including Weather, Picture Frame and Stock Ticker.
Konfabulator’s Web site features the Widget Gallery, home to more than 350 user-contributed Widgets ranging from games to utilities.
Konfabulator can be downloaded and tried out for free from the Web site. It costs US$25 to register. Konfabulator requires Mac OS X v10.2 or later.
