TackyShirt has announced that its first product, an educational DVD called Mac OS X: The Basics, is finally shipping. The company had a limited quantity on hand to sell at last week’s Macworld CreativePro Conference & Expo, and is now selling them from its e-commerce store as well. (Pre-orders have been shipped, too.)
TackyShirt is a production company that is “dedicated to putting out the most entertaining education available.” The company’s first product is a video DVD set designed to introduce users to Mac OS X. It packs four hours of training into easy-to-digest 15 minute sessions featuring industry luminaries like Andy Ihnatko, Bob LeVitus, John Welch and Shawn King.
Mac OS X: The Basics is the first of four DVDs planned by TackyShirt. The first one includes “basics that you’ll use every day,” like customizing the dock, using keyboard shortcuts and more. The second disc is aimed at intermediate users, with info on getting the most from your word processor, e-mail, Web browser and more. Disc three digs into Mac OS X’s powerful command line interface, while disc four covers routine maintenance, backup strategies and troubleshooting, system upgrades and expansion.
TackyShirt’s Mac OS X: The Basics costs US$39.99. Visit the Web site for more details.
