Kaydara Inc. offered an important endorsement for Mac OS X and the Power Mac G5 on Wednesday. The company announced that it has selected Mac OS X as the sole Unix-based operating system upon which to develop an upcoming release of Motionbuilder 5, its 3D character animation software package.
Kaydara president Michel Besner explained that his company’s customer feedback and its own industry projections show that it’s not necessary to develop for two different Unix-based platforms.
“Mac OS X is a much more powerful and reliable solution for graphic artists and 3D professionals,” said Besner. With the release of the new Power Mac G5, we believe Mac OS X is the platform of the future, which is why we have decided to concentrate our Unix development efforts solely for this market.”
Motionbuilder 5 was developed for film, television broadcast, special effects, games and more. The technology provides real-time photorealistic 3D rendering and Kaydara’s HumanIK character animation technology.
