Peripheral maker Keyspan on Wednesday announced the release of a series of retractable charging cables designed to charge cell phones from the USB port of your Mac or PC.
The ZIP-LINQ line of cables, developed in partnership with Cables Unlimited, enables Mac users to give their cell phones some juice while they’re on the road by drawing power from the USB interface on their iBook, PowerBook or desktop computer. The charging cables can extend to up to 30 inches, but retract to rest compactly when not in use.
Prices for the ZIP-LINQ chargers range from US$21.99 to $29.99 depending on which system you’re planning on connecting. Keyspan has created ZIP-LINQ cables for Nokia, Motorola, Ericcson, Siemens, Sony, Samsung, LG Mobile, Sanyo and Kyocera cell phone models.
What’s more, the company has also introduced AC and DC adapters that enable users to charge their cell phones from power outlets in buildings, cars and boats too.
