Bruce Momjian, the author of “PostgreSQL: Introduction and Concepts,” and one of the founders of the
PostgreSQL Global Development Group, will be teaching PostgreSQL at the
Big Nerd Ranch
PostgreSQL is an object-relational, open-source database available. The Big Nerd Ranch offers intensive training classes for Mac OS X and Unix programmers in a lodge outside Atlanta, GA.
As with all BNR classes, PostgreSQL training will provide time for lectures, learning exercises, class discussion, and individual project work. Class topics include: advanced SQL; concurrency/transactions; server-side languages; administration; performance tuning; application programming; extending PostgreSQL; and internals
The class fee (US$3,500) includes original course materials, five days of training, room and board at the Ranch, 24-hour computer lab access, a Big Nerd Ranch coffee mug, a t-shirt, and transportation to and from the Atlanta airport. Students are encouraged to bring independent projects to class, allowing for input from classmates and individual instructor attention. A complete course description and instructor biography are online.
