on Thursday announced its Blue2 Wireless Headset with Microphone. The device initially ships with Windows compatibility, but Orange Micro anticipates support for Jaguar by September.
Blue2 combines Orange Micro’s own USB Bluetooth Adapter with JABRA’s FreeSpeak Bluetooth Wireless Headset. The pair enable users to communicate with multimedia applications on their computer wirelessly. The Jabra FreeSpeak headset weighs less than an ounce and wraps behind the user’s ear. It features a small integrated boom mic, and enables users to work up to about 30 feet away from their computer. It’ll also work with Bluetooth-equipped cell phones.
Potential applications for the Blue2 kit include video conferencing, voice over IP, gaming chat, speech recognition and dictation, according to Orange Micro. The Blue2 kit also includes a 20-inch USB extension cable, charging cradle for the headset and more.
The Blue2 kit will ship mid-August and carries a suggested retail price of US$129.99. Again, support for Mac OS X v10.2 is expected in September.
