Fuji Photo Film U.S.A. Inc., has announced the Fujifilm USB Drive 2.0, a USB 2.0-connectable, pocket-sized storage device with up to 1GB capacity.
Due next month, the device will offer a maximum read-speed rate of 4MB per second and write-speed rate of up to 3MB per second. The Fujifilm USB Drive 2.0 will be available in 128MB, 256MB, 512MB and 1GB capacities. The 32MB and 64MB USB drives will be offered at the original USB 1.1 read-speed rate of up to 1MB per second and write-speed rate of up to 0.85MB per second. Prices range from US$34.95 to $499.
The drives tout cross-platform interoperability. On the Mac, they’re compatible with Mac OS X and Mac OS 8.6-9.x. The USB Drive 2.0 is also backward-compatible with the slower USB 1.1 interface found on most Macs. Apple’s Power Mac G5 is the first model to feature USB 2.0 support.
