Mac game publisher Aspyr Media on Thursday confirmed plans to publish a Mac version of LucasArts’ Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb. It’s a 3D action game that puts players in the role of the legendary action hero.
The year is 1935, and archaeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones must prevent a powerful Chinese artifact from falling into the hands of evildoers. Indy goes up against nefarious Nazis and members of the Asian underworld with his partner, Mei Ying, as he seeks to protect the Heart of the Dragon.
As with any Indiana Jones adventure, this game spans the world as Indy travels to exotic locations like Ceylon, Istanbul and Hong Kong on his quest for treasure. He goes hand-to-hand with hordes of bad guys as he uses his fists, whips, pistols, shotguns, and “a plethora of improvised weapons” to defend himself.
System requirements are still preliminary, but Aspyr projects that Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb will require Mac OS X 10.2.6 or higher, a G4/800MHz or faster; 256MB RAM; 750MB hard disk space; and 32MB Radeon 7500 or GeForce2 MX or better 3D graphics card.
Rated “T” for Teen by the ESRB, Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb is currently in Alpha development status. Aspyr Media projects that the game will be ready for release in September.
