Music software developer BitHeadz Inc. has announced the release of v3.2 of its Unity line, including Unity Session, Unity Synth Expander, Unity DS-1 and Unity AS-1.
According to the developer, the new Unity releases focus on integration with RTAS, VST and AudioUnit supported sequencers and Mac OS X. Interface improvements give users control over oscillator and filter parameters, and modulation routing effects and modulation aspects, in addition to the Library/Bank/Program selection.
Users can also edit samples in real-time in plug-in mode, and audio input can now be used as a modulation source — so it can be run through Unity AS-1’s Ring Modulator, for exampled, or passed out through a synthesizer’s filters on its or mixed with Unity audio output. Audio can be used to trigger voices and envelopes.
Minor bug fixes have been made, Unity Editor, Unity Librarian and Unity Player have been improved, and modulator and modulation routing support has been added for audio and MIDI effects parameters.
The update is free for all 3.x users. Separate downloads are available for OS 9 and OS X. The OS X version requires ProTools 6.0.1 for RTAS or Logic 6 for AudioUnits.
