If you’re using a 17-inch PowerBook G4, you don’t just need a backpack, you need a big backpack. Or perhaps the Big BackOffice, a just-released product from Shaun Jackson Design.
This case — a larger of the company’s BackOffice backpack — can hold the 17-incher, as well as other monster-sized laptops, in its 15.75 by 12 by 2 inch computer compartment. It can be transformed from a padded backpack to a single shoulder strap vertical briefcase. The Big BackOffice opens to create a portable workplace for your lap or desk.
Side pockets hold a variety of computer accessories, such as cables and power adapter. There’s also a DVD/CD organizer that sits behind the laptop’s screen. A second rear pocket provides room for paperwork, a portable printer, or even a second laptop.
The padded, contoured shoulder straps can be stored in their own zipper pocket. A single shoulder strap may be attached at the D-rings located on the top of the case for the occasions when you need a “shoulder bag” rather than a backpack.
The Big BackOffice costs US$159.95. A single shoulder strap can be purchased as a $9.95 option.
