WildPackets Inc. on Monday updated its EtherPeek network traffic and protocol analyzer to v4.2. The new update adds “full support” for Mac OS X v10.2, “Jaguar,” and other new features.
EtherPeek was developed to help network administrators and system managers manage their computer networks more effectively. The software can handle real-time and post-capture packet filtering, and supports all major protocol suites. It provides details like summary statistics windows and more to help IT pros understand what’s happening on their networks.
In addition to full support for Jaguar, EtherPeek v4.2 adds new and improved packet decoders and new analysis modules that provide stats and decode summaries for remote access dial-up user services. EtherPeek can also track commands and other messages for the Server Message Block (SMB) protocol. What’s more, it decodes supports for TNS and TDS traffic and can detail VoIP traffic as well.
EtherPeek for Mac v4.2 costs US$695 (with 12 months of maintenance included). If you’re currently under a maintenance contract for EtherPeek, v4.2 is a free download. Mac OS X v10.2.4 or later is required.
