Aurora Video Systems announced on Monday that its IgniterX Lite video capture card has been qualified with Pro Tools 6.0.1 TDM systems on Mac OS X.
IgniterX Lite is a digital video capture card equipped with 16-bit, 44.1 and 48KHz stereo inputs and outputs, unbalanced RCA and fully synchronized audio. For video, it features composite and S-Video interfaces with compression ratios ranging from 1.5: 1 to 50:1. It’s designed to use QuickTime, and works with Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Premiere and other software.
IgniterX Lite’s Pro Tools certification paves the way for the card to be used in digital audio workstations (DAWs) based around Avid subsidiary Digidesign’s Pro Tools hardware. Digidesign manufactures a line of hardware (and software) aimed at audio professionals. Their products are used in music, broadcast, multimedia and film audio production.
