Special presentations are planned for the next meeting of two Macintosh User Groups (MUGs).
Dan East, founder and president of the Mid-Atlantic Macintosh User Groups Team, MaMUGs, will conduct a “Fun Videos Beyond iMovie” presentation at the Bucks & Montgomery County Macintosh Users Group (BUX-MONT MUG) on Thursday, Aug. 7, at 7:30 p.m.
East will look at such products as Sorenson Compression Suite, FreePlay Music from iDisk, QuickTime and SmartSound. He’ll also offer a round-up of new product info from recent trade shows, including the DVexpo, NAMM, the User Group Leadership Conference, and the Macworld CreativePro Conference & Expo. Go to the BUX-MONT MUG Web site for details.
Meanwhile, the Macintosh Users Group of New Jersey (MACNJ) will look at “OS X Software You Really Want” at their Saturday, Sept. 13 meeting, which starts at 9 a.m. During the session, commercial products, shareware, and freeware items will be covered. There will also be demonstrations and special pricing on some of the products. More info can be found at the MACNJ Web site.
MUGs are good places for making new friends, finding Mac-loving buddies, increasing your technical expertise, finding solutions to technical problems, and sometimes finding a good deal on used hardware.
