DMOD Inc. — Digital Media On Demand — announced Tuesday the release of DMOD WorkSpace v3.0. DMOD WorkSpace has been created for the entertainment industry, to help reduce the risk of piracy during the production and distribution process. It supports multiple platforms, including Mac OS X.
DMOD WorkSpace employs media access controls and encryption technology that help to define and restrict playback and media export capabilities in environments where media files are shared. It’s available both as a client-server enterprise version or as a hosted ASP service that can be rented as needed. It can be used for audio, film, TV production and more.
Changes in DMOD WorkSpace 3.0 include the incorporation of a browser-based Web client that enables users to access materials anywhere. The interface has also been streamlined to make it easier to send, receive and track digital media. Upgrades can be added in the browser interface as well, and the architecture now scales upward to thousands of users.
DMOD WorkSpace supports Java and PHO, as well as integrated Quicktime support. It can also integrate with watermarking, asset management and Web commerce systems.
Pricing for DMOD WorkSpace 3.0 ASP averages US$3,500 per month for 10 users, with no additional charges or usage restrictions. Enterprise solutions average $60,000 per year for one server and 50 users. For information specific to your environment, users are encouraged to contact DMOD for details.
