Aladdin Systems Inc. noted Tuesday the release of Internet Cleanup 1.0 J, a Japanese localized version of the company’s Mac privacy tool for Internet users.
Internet Cleanup helps to remove cookies, history files and other Internet-related clutter that can be traced, according to Aladdin Systems. It can also permanently delete any file or folder. It supports popular Mac browsers like Safari and Internet Explorer.
Internet Cleanup’s NetBlockade blocks banner ads and also stops pop-up and pop-under advertisements, and it won’t stop secure transactions. SpyAlert finds evidence of “spyware” — software that monitors keystrokes, application and file usage, Web page viewing and other activity — and alerts the user, who can then disable it. Cookie Tosser deletes “cookies” — software tokens often used by Web sites to track user activity or identification — and also enables users to view cookie details and hide or exclude individual cookies from deletion. Web Cache Files Remover can locate and remove Web browser cache files, and also prepares summary results showing total disk space used. Internet History Files Locate can be used to zero in on and delete history files created by Web browsers. SecureDelete permanently deletes files.
Internet Cleanup requires 8MB free RAM and 3MB free hard disk space. It requires Mac OS X 10.1.5 or higher or Mac OS 9.1 or higher. The Japanese version can be ordered either through Aladdin directly or through Aladdin’s Japanese distributor, act2.
