Alias Systems — which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary and a name change — has overhauled its North American and European education program, so that students and graduates are now eligible for a permanent software licensing option that extends beyond graduation.
Students, graduating students, and faculty can now buy seats of Maya — the 3D graphics and animation software — at special education rates. The revamped student and faculty program also allows graduating students the option to convert their existing student license to a commercial license at a reduced rate.
Also, the revamped education program offers three choices of software licensing for schools: standalone license, volume license, and rental license. The standalone license option — for schools requiring less than 10 seats — allows educators to purchase additional software and learning resources at education discounts.
The volume license option — for schools requiring more than 10 seats — includes one year of education maintenance (technical support, software updates and upgrades). Volume licensees also receive education discounts on additional Alias solutions, including software, education maintenance, self-paced learning tools, and instructor-led training materials.
The rental license option provides educators access to temporary software licenses for 30, 60, 90, or 120 days in North America and 12 months in Europe, Middle East and Africa. All rental licenses include technical support for the term of the rental.
To kick off the new program, Alias is launching its E=MC2 promotion in which educators and students can take advantage of special, limited-time offers on Maya Complete and Maya Unlimited bundles.
