Seeser has launched Seeser Search, a search tool for helping AOL Instant Messenger and .Mac users find each other for audio or video chats via iChat AV or AIM. It’s based on an “opt-in” database where iChat AV and AIM users can register their screen names and personal profiles in a way that, according to Seeser, “only connects them with people who have similar interests.”
When you sign up, you can indicate if you’re set up for audio or video chats. Choices are indicated to chat searchers by icons located next to the screen names displayed in the search field. Presently, Seeser Search has registered users from North America, Asia, South America, Europe, Japan and Australia.
Seeser says one of the reasons for launching the service is due to the “overwhelming popularity of Apple’s iChat AV” (which is still in beta testing). The Seeser.org site itself includes such components as: Video Swap Meet, AV Blind Date, Video Blog Listings, “Find a Buddy” section, and the new Seeser Search.
