Kensington Technology Group has rolled out a new line of MicroSaver computer locks, including the MicroSaver Guaranteed Notebook Replacement, which is backed by a laptop replacement guarantee.
The US$54.99 MicroSaver Guaranteed Notebook Replacement is constructed of Kevlar brand fiber and stainless steel braiding. Kensington feels that it’s so tough that they’re providing up to $1,500 to replace the notebook, and up to $10,000 protection per registered purchaser per year. (The additional notebook replacement guarantee is valid for one year from the date of purchase.)
The notebook security device also sports the Kensington T-bar lock, which works with the Kensington Security Slot (K-Slot) that’s a part of most laptops (including Apple’s). Kensington also introduced a new standard MicroSaver, which includes Kevlar brand fiber and is purportedly 40 percent stronger than the original MicroSaver. It costs $44.95.
Additionally, the company has released the ComboSaver, a $39.99 keyless computer cable lock. The standard MicroSaver and ComboSaver incorporate standard Kensington security features, including the T-bar lock mechanism and rubber protection bumper.
