Mac game publisher Aspyr Media Inc.’s latest e-newsletter has some tantalizing tidbits for Mac game enthusiasts interested in the company’s newest game offerings.
Kelly Slater’s Pro Surfer, the latest extreme sports game that Aspyr has licensed from Activision, is now at its Final Candidate development milestone, the point at which the game is checked off by all parties involved and, barring any unforseen problems, is declared gold master and sent to replication. What’s more, its Mac conversion of Star Trek Elite Force II is also nearing Final Candidate status — exciting news indeed for Star Trek fans looking to get another taste of first-person shooter action.
As we’ve previously reported, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 has gone gold master — Aspyr is anticipating seeing the game on store shelves by mid-August. It’s the first Tony Hawk game that Aspyr has brought to both the PC and the Mac, simultaneously. The conversion was handled by Beenox Studios, which previously collaborated with Aspyr on the Mac conversion of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3. Zoo Tycoon is shipping — this fun sim game puts you in the role of the owner of a zoo. You’re responsible for setting up exhibits, controlling prices, and hiring staff to keep your park clean and well-maintained, the customers happy, and the animals well-treated. A demo is coming, according to Aspyr. And Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb was recently announced, too.
In other developments, Aspyr Media indicated that its Mac conversion of Law & Order: Dead on the Money is nearing its Beta development milestone, while its conversion of James Bond 007 Nightfire is quickly progressing towards its Alpha milestone. Information on these titles and their status can be had at the Aspyr Web site.
