Aspyr Media Inc.
closed the week out with another announcement about a new title coming to a Mac near you — X2: Wolverine’s Revenge.
The Mac conversion of this title is already close to completion; the company lists the project’s status at its Final Candidate development milestone, and expects to ship X2: Wolverine’s Revenge this month.
X2: Wolverine’s Revenge puts players in the role of popular X-Men mutant Wolverine. His background is shrouded in mystery — Wolverine’s skeleton is laced with an unbreakable alloy called adamantium, the same material his deadly razor-sharp claws are crafted from as well. He also has enhanced sensory powers and the ability to heal himself quickly.
As Wolverine, you discover that you’ve been implanted with a virus that will kill you unless you find the antidote within 48 hours. You must confront your past by returning to the Weapon X facility in search of the cure.
Along the way, Wolverine goes toe-to-toe with other mutants like Sabretooth, Wendigo, Juggernaut and Magneto, while Professor X and Beast help him in his search for the antidote. The game has been rated T for Teen by the ESRB.
Preliminary system requirements call for Mac OS X 10.2.6 or later; G4/733MHz or faster; 256MB RAM; 1.7GB hard disk space; and ATI Radeon or Nvidia GeForce2 MX or better graphics system with at least 32MB VRAM. The game is currently available for pre-order for US$49.99.
