UK-based Mac game publisher Virtual Programming Ltd. plans to bring Horse Racing Manager to the Mac later this year. The game puts you in the race as an owner, breeder, trainer, jockey or gambler.
Horse Racing Manager plays differently depending on which role you take. Owners are concerned with finances and staffing, for example, while breeders are more interested in finding the right horses to combine to produce future champions. Trainers have to prepare horses for the goals set for the season. Gamblers, of course, follow the races and use their skills to make money. Jockeys can race solo or against other players over local area networks (LANs) or the Internet.
The game features a full 3D engine used when races happen. You can view and manually control your horse during races, and visit real-life race tracks and locations. More details will be posted to Virtual Programming’s Web site.
