Panic and The Iconfactory have released a new version of Pixadex, a new icon organizational tool for Mac OS X. The new version is a free upgrade for existing users and can be downloaded from The Iconfactory’s Web site.
Billed as “to icons, what Apple’s iPhoto is to images,” Pixadex enables users to import, organize and search icons. The software supports standard Mac icons, the “iContainer” format developed for Pixadex and Panic/The Iconfactory’s CandyBar customization tool; support for Drag & Drop and more.
The new version adds support for .icns files — useful for developers, according to the companies. Also added is “Get Info” for collections, in the contextual menu. It’s now easier to add or move selections in the list pane when it’s full. What’s more, several bugs have been fixed — you can read all about what’s changed at the Pixadex Web page.
Pixadex costs US$18.95 to register.
