First International Digital Inc., or FID, is introducing a new line of digital audio players that offers both digital audio playback (MP3 and WMA) and stereo FM radio. The first in the series, the irock! 830, is compatible with Apple’s iTunes and comes equipped with 128MB of built-in memory that can hold up to four hours of music.
The player sports a built-in FM tuner with 20 programmable presets, a compact design (smaller than a business card and 0.6 inches thick), USB connectivity, and up to 30 hours of playback with one AA battery. The irock! 830 supports ID3 tags, displaying artist, title, and album information on a blue backlit LCD display with selectable contrast. It comes with earphones, a carrying case, and a neck strap.
The irock! 830 has an estimated retail price of US$99.99. Due in September is the $149.99 irock! 860, which will offer 256MB of storage. Both devices can be ordered at the product Web site, where you can also download music titles.
