Shapiro Consulting Group Inc. (SCGI) on Monday announced the release of its Asiva Sharpen+Soften Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop.
The company said that it’s the first in a series of plug-ins the company plans to release over the next few months. It works on Mac OS X, Mac OS 9 and various flavors of Windows.
Based on the same technology that powers SCGI’s Asiva Photo software, Asiva Sharpen+Soften enables users to, as the name implies, sharpen and soften images. The underlying technology provides precised control over how effects are applied, as well, with the ability to sharpen or soften individual channels in 8 or 16-bit files, RGB or CMYK. HSV components can be sharpened or softened. A sampler tool lets you choose the color range you’d like to sharpen or soften, also. The developer explained that these tools enable you to generate more natural results without having to resort to complex masking.
Asiva Sharpen+Soften Plug-In costs US$69. A demo version is available at the Asiva Web site.
