Shareware developer James Sentman has released CD Session Burner 2.0 for Mac OS X, an application that lets you burn multiple volumes on CD-R or CD-RW media.
Disk Burner, the software that comes with Mac OS X, burns an entire disk at once whether or note you’ve used all the space on it. CD Session Burner lets you burn as many smaller volumes to the disk as you like until all the space is used. When you use a multi-session disk, each session will mount as a separate volume.
Version 2.0 of CD Session Burner brings full compatibility with Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar and newer. This fixes the limit on the number of sessions that can be burned to the CD-R. The update, which is free to registered users, also supports machines with multiple CD burning capable drives attached and improves the speed of the preparing data segment of the burn process.
Additionally, CD Session Burner 2.0 brings preliminary compatibility with Windows, as the ISO9660/Joliet partition information is now included (though Windows may only be able to “see” the first session on the disk).
CD Session Burner runs in demo mode until you purchase a serial number. In demo mode, it will burn 25 sessions, then limit the burn speed to 1x. You can register the product for US$17.
