Snerdware LLC has released AddressX 1.0, the first component of an integration suite for Mac OS X and Microsoft Exchange Server 2000. Exchange Server is used as a collaborative scheduling and messaging tool in business environments.
A freeware release, AddressX lets you view and search a company’s Global Address List (GAL) directly from the Mac OS X Address Book. There’s no software to install on the Exchange server.
Built for IT department, AddressX is transparent to both Mac OS X and Exchange. Contacts are made available on or offline and from any application that integrates with the Address Book, such as Apple’s Mail or iCal.
Also, on Monday Microsoft’s Macintosh Business Unit announced (http://maccentral.macworld.com/news/2003/08/04/entourage/) the release of Microsoft Exchange Update for Entourage X (v10.1.4). This new release of Entourage — Microsoft’s e-mail client with personal information management tools — introduced interoperability with Microsoft Exchange Server.
