The International QuickTime VR Association (IQTVRA) will hold its annual Interactive Imaging conference Oct. 1-3 at the Dulles Hyatt Hotel in Herndon, VA.
QuickTime VR (QTVR) is Apple’s photo-realistic, cross-platform virtual reality technology that makes it possible to explore places as if you were there. All major applications that play QuickTime movies can also play QuickTime VR movies. The IQTVRA is an association dedicated to educating and promoting the use of interactive imaging worldwide. The Interactive Imaging conference is geared to dynamic media content creators and features developers demonstrating their techniques and discussing business strategies in hands-on workshops.
Over 100 attendees, speakers, sponsors, and educators attended the 2002 event. This year’s conference will feature more business strategy sessions, including marketing and legal issues for both photographers and developers, along with tools and techniques of the latest gear from sponsors and imaging pros, according to Loren Price, IQTVRA chairman. Additionally, there will be several new product announcements and demonstrations. Sponsors include Apple, iPIX, Kaidan, Nikon, Panoscan and VR Toolbox.
This conference is available to non-IQTVRA members for US$950; the cost for members is $675. IQTVRA memberships run from $25 for students to $300. For more information about the conference, go to the Interactive Imaging Web site.
