The Beijing (China) Macintosh User Group will hold a “Mac Day 2003” in Beijing on Saturday, Aug. 16. The purpose of the event is to “create a true Mac gathering and to get together with a sense of community and to be informed of the latest Mac news and trends,” according to Yan Feng, president of the user group and Apple Regional Liaison for user groups in Asia (except Japan).
Final Cut Pro 4, the Mac OS X Terminal, and Linux are among the topics being discussed. There will also be a Mac trivia competition and drawing for prizes. Additionally, Mac magazines from around the world will be on display.
Mac Day 2003 will run from 14:00 to 21:30 (local time) at the Cabo Cafe (just outside of Jianguomen) in Beijing. There will be three 40-45 minute “demos throughout the event, with time set aside for attendees to interact and have dinner. Directions and a sign-up form are online.
