The Iconfactory has released a new set of icons by artist Corey Marion: Smoothicons 6, which contains 18 freeware icons of such Mac products as the Power Mac G5, 17-inch PowerBook, 12-inch PowerBook, iSight, iPod, iCal, iChat, iDVD, iMovie, iPhoto, iTunes, Mail and Safari.
Smoothicons 6 can be downloaded in Mac OS X, Windows XP, and Pixadex iContainer formats. iContainers are a method of packaging and distributing the icons that Panic and The Iconfactory make for CandyBar, the US$12.95 Mac OS X icon customization tool.
Pixadex is an $18.95 icon organizational tool for Mac OS X. Billed as “to icons, what Apple’s iPhoto is to images,” Pixadex enables users to import, organize and search icons. The software supports standard Mac icons and the iContainer format.
