Storage peripheral maker
has announced that it’s shipping the MicroGB800 — a FireWire 800 version of its MicroGB+ pocket drive.
The new drive measures 5 x 3 x .65 inches, and features dual Firewire 800 ports as well as a small-sized USB 2.0 port. An AC adapter is included in the package, although WiebeTech noted that the device is bus-powered with FireWire and certain USB hosts. It also include a carrying case.
The MicroGB800 is available in capacities from 0GB (a do it yourself unit, without drive) to 80GB. Spindle speeds on the drive mechanisms range from 4200 – 7200RPM depending on capacity. Prices run from US$159.95 – $489.95, depending on capacity.
