Mariner Software Inc. on Wednesday announced the release of Mariner Write v3.5, a new version of their Mac word processor.
Billed as “the word processor the rest of us,” Mariner Write includes features like the ability to import Microsoft Word documents, support for headers and footers, footnotes and endnotes, an 80,000+ word spelling dictionary, and many other features. It works in as little as 2MB of available memory, and runs natively in Mac OS X and Mac OS 9.
The new version of Mariner Write adds support for importing Microsoft Word files written in non-Roman characters. Other enhancements have also been made to the Word file conversion process. Japanese, Dutch and Swedish language support has been added, as has a new preference to change page background color. Other changes have been made as well, including bug fixes.
Mariner Write 3.5 can be downloaded from the Mariner Software Web site. It’s a free upgrade for registered users of Mariner Write v3.0 or higher.
